This is one of the best seafood experiences I had in San Diego. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious.

Octopus was better than the best chicken I've ever had, the pulled pork was incredible, and the tuna or fish dish we had was so clean. This place is a gem in encinitas if you enjoy seafood. Even the pizza we got was great, cocktails were top tier as well. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding what was good based on our palates. Can't wait to come back! Buddy enjoyed his birthday here a ton.

Had a trendy and hip dining experience at Herb & Sea in Encinitas, California, by Chef Brian Malarkey. The food was seasoned perfectly, and every dish in our party was impeccably cooked and well-balanced. Exceptional service overall, with the exception of the butternut squash pudding – would advise skipping that.

I really enjoyed this place. Sat at the bar. Cool vibe. Had the shrimp and potato pizza. Amazing combo, despite how it sounds. The butterscotch bucatini dessert was great. Watching the kitchen and the raw/dessert bar from the bar was like watching an orchestra. Very impressive.

Our dining experience at Herb & Sea was, without exaggeration, the best meal we've ever had. We were treated with warm hospitality from every member of the staff, including Chef Sara Harris. We enjoyed our bar seating and loved the modern, nautical, art deco decor. The ambiance is perfect for a date night or any special occasion. We were impressed by all the details incorporated into the guest experience, including an amazing music playlist. Service was well-timed and friendly. Our six-course meal was incredible - the chocolate lava cake is a must. We can't wait to come back the next time we are in Encinitas. Thank you Chef Sara & team!

Visiting from out of town and admittedly had no expectations but hopeful it would be a great meal with clients. Recommended from the client, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The service was impeccable from friendliness to never having a glass empty but without being intrusive. The meal was a special of the night “off the menu” swordfish with coriander, and some other spices that I can’t recall that formed a nice, tasteful but not overpowering finish to the excellent cut of fish. The ambience, service and food was outstanding. Highly recommended.

This place is recommended all over the place for seafood in San Diego and doesn’t disappoint! Everything was absolutely lovely. Definitely be sure to ask about the Parker House Rolls if you’re a bread lover! …

Oustanding service from RYAN, the waiter that knows how to treat his guests. Attentive, on top of things, making sure we were all pleased with the food and drinks. If you want to have a great experience, ask for RYAN.

my friend told me about their happy hour deal and although this place was a 40 min drive for me, it was totally worth it! they offer happy hour at the bar from 5-6pm and it was packed! the happy meal comes with a smash burger, 3 oysters, fries, and a glass of bubbly, all for just $20! the smash burger was delicious, perfectly crispy and seasoned. the fries were so crispy and salted, and the oysters were so fresh! love the little squeeze bottle of hot sauce they give you on the side. note to management, make sure the bottles are actually refilled before you give them out. 2 of the 5 bottles we received were basically empty. my only small gripe is that you can't customize the burger. my friend and I asked for our burgers without onions or mustard respectively and our waiter said that wouldn't be possible bc those are both mixed into the burger dressing. understandable bc it was still delicious but they also didn't list that it included pickles on top of the cheese - and if I had known that, I 100% would have removed it. instead I was scraping out the pickles before I could eat. definitely make reservations bc they fill up for HH fast!

Came here for happy hour (5-6pm) and I was shocked to see a line waiting for it to open approx 20 minutes before 5pm. The bar and oyster bar filled up shortly after it opened. We ordered the Happy Meal which came with three super fresh oysters from Washington, house hot sauce (so smoky good), fries, and a smash burger, AND did I mention it comes with a glass of bubble - all for $20! Everything was delicious! While we ate, multiple folks checked in on us to ask if we needed anything or how the food was tasting. Such great service. The restaurant is clean and has a nice rustic beachy decor. Clean bathrooms too!
